Hi all. I recently swapped out a BlackMagic Ultra Studio thunderbolt I/O for an Mbox audio interface. The BlackMagic is just not ready to handle the open I/O of Media Composer yet. That being said, since making the swap, I’m intermittently getting an extremely loud digital noise hiss at playback. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the problem and it’s not limited to any single project. Any insight would be really appreciated both by my ears and my speakers.

Did you uninstall all the BMD software and drivers?

Uninstalled all BMD software and drivers and I’m still having the problem. Huge issue as it can blow a speaker at any moment if I’m not riding the volume at all times.

Did you ever resolve this issue. I’m getting the exact thing, no external i/o changes. Last thing I did before this started was add an audio suite plugin to a track… I’ll try removing and see what gives.

I also have this issue. I just hooked up my new Octacapture along with pro tools and media composer. MC6 is giving me that horrendous noise. I had an error that came up before, but it’s not there now, just noise that destroys speakers. This is a fresh copy of lion, PT10, MC6 and my interface. A

Never got a fix from Avid. Gave up on the whole thing and ended up getting Nitris DX for our interface. Ridiculous.
