Hi guys! I hope someone here might help me because i’ve spent 2 days already, trying to figure this problem out. So, here’s my story: In a recent past, i’ve always worked with SD. I have Asus Laptop with Core Duo (5750), 2GB of Ram, and ATI videocard onboard. Everything was fine, till i brouoght myself into HD-production. While playing smoothly Full HD in MPC or VLC or even from Avid timeline, my system is completely not able to export any HD video from Avid. I’ve tried any variants – from QT sequence to QT video, using “same as source” feature, or using any codecs (Xvid, Divx, H264). All i get outside from Avid – is a black frame, while sound of movie goes on. Also, this video is impossible to open with any converters (Procoder, Sorenson, Tmpgenc). The most interesting is that SD-video exports just fine! I’ve tried to reinstall Avid, download and install codecs and nothing seems to be the solution.
Could someone please give advice, because I begin to think that it’s time to change my hardware!

My OS is WinXP SP3, my Avid is MC 5.5.3, and all hardware i have is listed above. Hope for your help!

Just guessing at a possiable cause, but are you running Quicktime ver 7.6.9 ?

That is the proper QT version for MC 5.5.3, and you may have issue’s if your running a newer ver.
