  • Importing jpeg or png as text for Avid project

When I import a text file created in Photoshop cs4 into my Avid project it appears to be very soft and not as sharp as it appears within the Photoshop application. Any ideas on how my settings in Photoshop should be. I use a canvas size or image size as 16 in. x 9 in. Thanks!

NO matter what your Photoshop document size, Avid will import the file and convert it to a video file with the same dimensions of the project. SO if it was 4000 pixels (video doesn’t do INCHES) by 2000 pixels, if you import it into an SD project, it will become 720×486.

And never judge the quality of the image using the Avid interface…the Source or Program monitors. They are not high quality by any means. You need to have an Avid IO device (Mojo, Nitris DX) or Matrox MXO2 Mini or AJA IO Express, and external monitor, in order to see what it really looks like.

To follow-up on my question….is there any other software applications that you might suggest to give me a higher quality looking text or logo making application. I am asking for the moon–perhaps I just need to not be so picky…..any feed back would be appreciated….and oh yes, I do have a Mojo..and my projected are all SD..

Are there any settings I am missing in the Settings… when I begin a project?

Maybe I am asking too much! Thanks for your help.
