    Hi all.

We are looking to upgrade our facility and would like to phase out any analog connections where possible.

We’re on an AVID Unity system. I would still need my 2 monitors & 3rd client monitor (HD of course). The only “tricky” part is I would need another digital out to connect to my control room, who in turn patches me to LA via AT&T fiber to work in real time.

    Makes sense?

The Matrox MX02 seems like a great option. Anyone happily using it?
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!

[Orlando Rotundo] “connect to my control room”

Does your control room have a router?

right now, no (we’re all wired into an analog patch bay)

the new control room will be completely redesigned, so anything is up for discussion

We have a Quartz router system which allows both analogue and digital switching of the input and output of any edit suite or VTR. means anything can be patched anywhere on an easy lit touchscreen.
Audio wise, files once mixed are accessed by a Gigabit LAN by any edit suite, or are laid back to tape from sound studio to Racks room.

Depending on the size of your facility and the project budget you might consider adding a SDI router.
