  Sound from redcine-x for AVID

  Hey there
  i’m hoping you can help me.
  i am converting R3D files for use in a project. im using recine-x and converting 4KHD to DNXHD36 at 1920 x 1080. all the clips without in-camera sound convert perfectly and i have no probs bringing them into an AVID MC 5.0.3 project using the ALE method – but all the clips with sound come put as 3 x MXF and an XML and i cant seem to reconnect or import the media into AVID.

  WTF am i doing wrong?

  ALE file will not work for relink with audio. The safest and surest method is to drag all the those AAF’s that are also created for each transcode batch from REDCINE X into the bin. That will automatically relink upon import. If you want the additional metadata from the ALE, then select all the clip, do an import with import settings set to merge based on known sources. Select ALE.
