  apply soft edge to only one edge

  anybody know how to selectively apply the soft edge to a single edge?

  I have a plug-in for this with FCP but unsure how to do it in Avid. I am covering up a section of video and need to have a soft edge on one side of the top layer but not the other three. using 3D warp and applying soft edge in the border tab.

  Use either PAINT (in IMAGE) or ANIMATTE (in Key), and draw a narrow rectangle along the appropriate edge, soften its edge and you’ve got it.
