  Avid not allowing remote to Sony beta deck

  Hello…

  I’m having difficulty geting our Nitris DX to utilize the remote to our Sona betacam deck. If I run the deck in local, I can get get video and audio levels, but it simply won’t allow use of the remote. We’ve had the AVID system unplugged for about a week due to construction in our studio, so I’m wondering if the system hasn’t returned to it’s default setting, and if I need to go back into the settings and check something.

  Hi,
  What happens when you select Auto-configure in the Capture tool?
  You may want to go the Deck Configuration page (accessed in the Settings tab of you Project window) and see if the Com port has a channel assigned. If the window is empty, select Add Channel and configure it.
  Otherwise, check the remote cable, the 232-422 converter and try another deck.
