We still deal with a lot of SD 29.97 interlaced footage that must go to the web, so we mixdown, add Timewarp, render fluidmotion/progressive output and export. This is the best de-interlace method I have found. has anyone tried and would it work to simply switch the project format to 720p 29.97 and export without the rendered timewarp effect? Could that work?

I think you may need to transcode first for it to become 720p (progressive).

Thanks, I haven’t tried transcoding. I did change the project format, then exported – looks bad or even worse. Sometimes shortcuts work, most of the time I just get what I pay for.
