media is gone!!!
hey guys, haven’t worked with Avid in a while and now when I return to it I realize that there are a lot of changes, one of the things that I don’t understand is:
what is the difference between “Avid Media Files” Folder and “OMFIfiles” folder?
the project I am working on was edited by another project, but I had a problem with the media “disappearing” and showing up again (sometimes it was offline, but when restarting it was online again)
now it is all offline but I am not able to relink or batch import!!!
when I go to the media folder the clips I have are in two folders “CLPR” and Taker” what do I do with this media?Please help me urgently!!!

Avid, when it was limited to standard definition, captured and imported all files into an Avid codec, and wrapped them in an OMF wrapper. These media files were kept in the OMFI MediaFiles folder.
When Avid started handling HD, Avid decided to keep the same workflow, but instead, wrap the file in a more robust MXF wrapper, and house them in the Avid MediaFiles folder.
If the media was already used by Avid, you cannot “import” that media again, as it is already in an Avid format. Place the MXF files into the following folder:
d:\Avid Media Files\1\
Where “D” is your Media Drive, Avid Media Files is at the root of that drive, and “1” is the a numbered subfolder within the Avid Media Files Folder. See, Avid no longer lumps all files into the OMFI fodler, it splits the collections of files into subfolders for easier organization.
Launch Media Composer, and go your media tool and refresh your databases. You should be able to see the media. You may have to delete the media databases, and have them rebuild when you launch Avid, or experiment with different settings within the Media Tool, but the MXF files should appear.

d:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1

Problem was solved by renaming my hard drive, I don’t know how, but the media appeared to be on a G drive and the hard drive where the media was actually was named H, so I guess renamed it and problem was solved
