Computer not seeing Avid VideoRAID RTR320X anymore

First off, I know nothing about raids or how they work, so please be patient with me while I try to explain my problem to the best of my ability.
Here’s the problem. We found an old avid raid setup (rS273/320 MediaDrive LVD, 300gb total) in the back of our offices and hooked it up to our current workstation to see what was on it. The old raid hooked up fine and the PC was able to see it and access it. We even digitized to it without a hitch. Then we went back to hook up our current raid again (Avid VideoRAID RTR320X, 5tb total) and we found that the computer no longer could see it. No drives show up in “My Computer”. Although under Disk Management in Administrative Tools, all the partitions show up, but all have a “Failed” status.
Nothing has changed with the drives themselves, or the way we hooked them back up. We didn’t even move the drives from the rack, just unplugged the SCSI cables from the back of the computer and plugged them back in. And as always we let the drives power up before turning on the computer. We have tried many system restarts without success. We even went into the LSI SCSI Boot Adapter settings and restored everything to default. Still nothing.
Any advice? Is there something we need to do within the computer to get the raid to show up again? Here are the computer specs:
HP Workstation xw8200. Intel Xeon 3.40GHz, 3 GB of Ram. Windows XP Pro

Let’s get a bit more info.
Do you still have the Media Drive LVD connected? You should diconnect it, and see if that helps. You may have a bent pin on the SCSI cable. this happens all of the time. Realign the pins and see if that helps.
If you changed the Id on the RTR320X, then you need to change it back. The RTR chassis has status lights on the front and the back. On the back, all the lights above the drives should be green. If they are not, you have a failed drive. Also, it is quite easy to plug the SCSI cable that connects the computer to the drive upside down on this drive. If you look at the connector, there is a bump on one side of the connector. If you look at the connector, it is a trapezoid, and the smaller portion of the trapezoid is the side where the bump on the cable connects.

“You may have a bent pin on the SCSI cable.” – All the pins are straight on the SCSI cables.
“If you changed the Id on the RTR320X, then you need to change it back.” – How do you change the ID? Is it something on the drives or in the computer? Would plugging in another raid change the ID, which in turn would need to be changed back?

Is there anything that can happen to the computer to make the drives not show up? Or if all the connections are good, should we be seeing the drives? Thanks a lot for you help on this!

To change the SCSI id on the RTR 320x, you would have to use a small screwdriver and rotate a small selector on the back. As long as it is not set to ID 7, and it is the only drive connected, you should be fine. If you have not adjusted it, don’t do it now. Since it is an (x) I believe that means it is 10 drives, so the much larger chassis. Is this correct.
Although the RTR320x Raid has 10 drives in it, it really only shows up as 2 physical drives inside drive management. Do you see 2 drives that are 2.5 TB or so in size under windows Management?

We actually have the raid partitioned into 244gb partitions. Supposedly you get better performance out of Avid that way. Here is a screenshot of the Disk Management window. This is what shows up when the RTR320X is plugged in…

Thanks for your reply. The problem seems to be that one of the raid controllers is shot. The replacement should be coming in today. I hope everything goes smoothly!
