I wanted to move a project from my stationary pc to the laptop. So I consolidated the media onto a portable harddisked and copied it to a local harddrive on the laptop. And I moved the project and user files to the new system. The systems are identical versions, I just move the dongle to the system I use.

I relink the files and everything seems to be all right when I look at the master clips. But the timeline is completely wrong. If I look at the previous system the sequence should start with NJ Bin.09 but it starts with NJ Bin.13.Sub.02. I have only one sequence in the project. Now all the clips on the timeline is mixed.

I use Avid Xpress DV 3.5

How can I restore my project?

That should not happen unless there are overlapping tapenames & timecodes in your source footage.

Rather than consolidating the media, I prefer to copy all the media at finder level, then take the media to the other system. That way, you need not relink. You only need to manually update any newly created media on either system.
