  Avid Nitris DX Audio Capture

  I seem to be experiencecing a problem capturing and was wondering if it’s either the camera guy or sound guys equipment or a Avid problem.

  As I am capturing, I notice that I am getting random occasional static burst along audio channel 1 (sometimes on 1 & 2) on a 4 track system. when i go back into the captured media and load a clip in the source, and notice all other tracks are ok but the one channel where static occurs during capture.

  Is there someone out there who may be more familiar with this issue. I would like to know if it’s a Avid problem or something the camera guy and/or sound guy need to check with their equipment.

  Is it random? When you hear a static pop make note of the timecode or a visual cue and roll the tape back and play it again. Does the pop occur in the same exact spot?

  Check the audio directly on the deck, isolating each channel and listening for static. If the audio on the deck is clean then swap the audio cables feeding the Nitris DX. If the problem persists you should contact support.

  If the audio on the deck contains static, check with the camera man and sound man to track the source of the problem.
