  • EDL Manager & 1080p seq w/ NG src TC values

Using an upgraded version of MC (4.0.5) on my MacBook I was able to open & link to the XDcam (mp4) footage in a unfinished MC5 proj I need to reference. I had posted a related question about this earlier, the AMA feature saved the day.

Because I’m leery about editing on my MacBook (over my ppc G5) I’ll probably edit this in FCP. I’d like to generate a list of sound bites in the last cut I inherited. An edl with clip names almost gets me there. However in this 1080p (mostly) project/seq the src TC values all seem wrong. Within the Avid the v1 src in the Seq says 1hr TC values (confirmed my a matchback to the src clip). But the edl (tried different kinds) all have 0 hour src TC values. I’d like to figure this out for future reference but at a certain point will throw in the towel and log by hand. Help/suggestions very welcome.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Since I can only run MC5 on my MacBook Pro, I did the free trial. Smooth sailing *but* no EDL manager. Though I did an uninstall on MC 4.0.5 first, (also upgraded to OS 10.6.3 from 10.6) it’s not clear to me if the EDL Manager (26.05) that is in my Apps folder is from MC5 or earlier. If I try to launch it manually I get this error. “EDL Manager cannot be opened because of a problem”

I don’t see a separate installer for this (as in the earlier convention of a folder called “Other Installers) Suggestions very welcome as I’m keen to generate a list. Thanks.

With v5.0.3 and later, the one installer has all the apps in it. Click the custom button to get to the other installers when launching the MC installer.

Thanks Michael. Did the custom install, still had problems, described in this thread…

    but resolved in this one…

EDL Manager is working and delivering what I needed.

    Thanks again,
