  avid mc4 – project settings not saved due to an error

  Hi guys,

  This is a long shot.

  I am getting the error “project settings not saved due to an error” upon opening and closing projects.

  The catch is that projects are stored on an AFP Mac server – At present I can’t afford unity/lanshare etc.

  I know Avid don’t officially support this, I am using the all-drives console command to allow Avid to mount network the network drives.

  Something tells me this is a simple permission error, but I can’t put my finger on it.

  Any ideas? 🙂

  Thanks for the reply Matthew.

  I saw this thread when doing my research, but thought perhaps there might have been some developments since 2007.

  As it turns out it looks like using Samba might be a good work around, although I’m sure I’ve had this working with AFP just recently.
