  Dongle problems AVID 5.0.3

  Hi all,
  We are having the following issues with our dongles, has anyone else run into this?

  Here are the symptoms:

  1) Avid will freeze at some point during the editing session bringing up the dongle activation window and then crashing.
  2) Avid will not launch, bringing up the activation window.

  All of the dongles have been updated to 5.0. When you view them on each machine through the Dongle Manager it says that it’s licensed to run 5.0 and shows the serial number/dongle ID.

  When a system has problems, despite the dongle being connected, we can sometimes do the following (with intermittent success):

  1) Rescan dongle.
  2) Rescan dongle and restart computer.
  3) Reseat dongle, rescan dongle, restart computer.

  Our dongles are plugged in via a 4 port unpowered USB hub in one lab. In others, they are plugged directly into the machine.

  Prior to the upgrade to 5.0.3 we’ve not had problems with the dongles being plugged in as they are.

  Our system specs are:
  2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
  4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

  You might need to update the PACE drivers. That has been an issues that has cropped up with v5.
