Here’s the issue. I am dealing with an offline cut that has 29.97 NDF timecode, and I need to online it from HDCAM SR, but the timecode on the tapes is 23.976. So obviously when I decomposed the cut and tried to capture, I got an error.

So my question is, how do I convert this 29.97 project to 23.98? Is there a way to export an EDL and convert that, and then reimport it?

    Thanks,

    Shane

Ahhhh…I am discovering more and more as I go along.

The project is a 23.976 project. The tapes are HDCAM SR 444 23.98psf. Yet the burned in window code, and the source TC, go up to 30. Frame numbers are skipped…02, 07, 12, 17, 22, 27…but this indicates that the footage was captured from a 29.97 tape and pulldown was removed. Yet the MASTER tapes have 23.98 code…01 through 23.

And oddly enough, the Master TC1 timecode of the sequence ALSO goes to 29, and skips the same numbers.

I have a feeling I am over my head on this one. I have no clue what is going on.

    AHA!

Thanks to Terry Curren of AlphaDogs, I got it. I needed to right-click on the sequence and choose MODIFY. Then SET FORMAT to 1080p23.976. That made a new sequence with the proper timecode. And I am happily batch capturing now.
