  Capturing from CD/DVD player

  So I am loading through a Mackie 1601 audio board on a PC running Media Composer v2.8.4

  1- When loading in an NTSC project from either CD or DVD(just audio) Everything is great–just like it should be.
  2- When loading the same way into any HD project – I get what sounds like either a feedback loop or it seems to be loading in mono.
  3- Calibration Tone sounds fine in either NTSC or HD coming out.
  4- I have been able to load via HD deck via HD & SD fine.
  5- I have played back imported Wav files and AIff files in HD projects as well as any audio from a QT in a ALL HD projects fine. So its not that all the audio is playing back bad in these projects. I just cant seem to load from a CD into HD projects without it sounding like MONO, and I dont know why.

  This is very strange: to be able to load the audio into NTSC projects and have it sound fine, but then try the same load into a HD project and it does not.

  Can anyone help?

  Maybe when you are capturing, you are looping the Avid outputs back into its inputs, through your Mackie?

  Also, check your Passthrough Mixer settings.
