MC 5.0.1 says “system is not licensed” When Opening Bins, Projects
I’ve installed the fully functional MC 5.0.1 trial. I opened a project and when I tried to open a bin, it showed a progress bar, then immediately gave me this message:
“Your system is not licensed to run this software
Please contact Customer Support for further assistance.”When I hit “OK”, I got this message:
“Bus error” in thread “MainThread”, at address 0x0″
Then MC crashed. This same thing happens every time I try to open old projects now. So I created brand new projects on the machine to test it, with the same result – if I keep the bins open, I can edit, output, everything. But if I close a bin and try to re-open, it crashes. If I restart MC and try to open the same project, it crashes.
For a little background info – I’m running this on a MacPro 2×2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon running OS 10.6.4. I’ve got MC 5.0.1 installed on my system drive and the project and all media on my Media Raid. I’ve never had any AVID software on this machine. I’m running FCP2 on the same machine.
Please let me know if you need any other info. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I just got the feedback from AVID, if you want to use as a Trial, use the 5.0.0 version.
He informed me that there’s a bug in 5.0.1 if you use it in Trial Mode.-Yuki-

Yuki – forgive me for the delay in replying! Thank you for the advice – that is what finally worked. And now I’ve purchase MC and all is running reasonably smoothly.
