Media Composer 5 Trial
I’m hoping somebody at Avid sees this but I’ll take any knowledgeable responses. I tried repeatedly to register on the official Avid Users forum but something seems to be broken with their signup process.
Avid is not clear about the requirements for Avid Media Composer 5 and I need definitive clarification.
The Avid website says here and here that Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) is an acceptable Windows OS. This contradicts the actual download page that ONLY offers Avid Media Composer v5.0 for Windows XP (and a Mac version too). Huh?
Also, my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Because they list Professional as the minimum requirement does that mean that Media Composer 5 won’t work (properly) on my computer even though they’re both 64-bit flavors of Windows 7? Even if the trial may seem to work fine, I don’t want to purchase expensive software that may have OS specific bugs that I just didn’t notice during the trial.
Anybody know? Thanks.
