  Progressive to interlaced frame slip problem

  I am in the process of editing my showreel on an Avid Media Composer. I am a DP rather than an editor so you will have to excuse my very limited post knowledge.
  I have a dubbed tape from the master of a show that I shot 1080 25P (on a Sony 900R). Unfortunately in the process of the production company dubbing me an SD copy onto DVCAM…they have made the footage interlaced…or worse.

  A friend diagnosed the weird-motion DVCAM footage as having ‘slipped frames.’By this he meant that each frame which was previously progressive was now ‘wrongly’ divided, with its temporally identical fields now being shared across two frames.
  ie The footage is now interlaced, but with each frame now being constituted by two fields pulled from what were previously different frames.
  Each previously progressive frame has ‘slipped’ across two frames in the now interlaced DVCAM copy.

  It would be difficult to reacquire the footage so I am hoping for a clever solution to this visual mess? Any thoughts?
