    Hey,

So, I have a feature that I had to digitize in FCP due to HD gear issues. I now have everything in FCP and cannot stomach the thought of editing it in final cut. Does anyone know if I autoduck it to an Avid project, can I maintain keycode/sound info? Is there a workflow for this?

    hoping,
    mh

I have done it somewhat. I’m not sure about KEYCODE, but timecode, yes, that comes over. Keycode I believe is metadata that is attached to the clips in the project, not to the media like timecode is. That is why you need something like Cinema Tools to track that in FCP.

Lemme ping the author of Automatic Duck and have him respond.

Timecode information goes over, but not keycode information will not. That information is contained in the project file, and not the actual media, and the only thing the Duck deals with is the Media and the metadata contained within.

So…best to start learning FCP. Or recapture in Avid. FCP isn’t that bad. It doesn’t bite. Just don’t try to make it work like an Avid.

It’s funny, I have been editing on FCP for 10 years and recently cut a feature on Avid for fun. Now FCP just kills me. I can’t stand it. Give me trim mode or give me 48 hour days.
