  Avid Engineer Career path?

  What is the career path for an Avid Engineer? It seems that many places prefer ACSR certification however the training is very expensive and not available in most cities. I currently work as a freelance assistant editor so I do have a background in working with Avid, however I find that open Engineering positions at post houses aren’t posted on job boards too often. Can anyone recommended how to develop a career in engineering?

  Work support for a company in the industry, whether it be Avid, a reseller or a post house are all viable options. The problem is getting your foot in the door.

  ACSR status helps a bunch, it’s expensive but it’s your “higher education” if it’s what you really want to do. I guess the key is getting your foot in somewhere and proving to them you are worth paying for the certification.
