This is driving me nuts. I’m trying to capture DV25 411 OMF over firewire direct from a DV25 DVCPro deck. I set the capture tool to DV25 411 and it captures 1:1.

At first I though our intern who actually captured the footage had made a mistake and not noticed it, but I went to the same system and captured more footage. It was also 1:1. Filled a 500GB drive with 6 1/2 MiniDV tapes. I think that should have been less than 100GB.

Anyone else had this problem. Media Creation settings are all set to DV25 411, so that’s not the issue. Does v4 have a problem with OMF media? I’m pretty sure this doesn’t happen when I use MXF. I would check now, but I’m transcoding all that footage to another drive so I can delete the 1:1 media and hand this off to the editor.

    man, I dunno.
Do your capture settings show DV25 while capturing but you see 1:1 in yuor bin stats after the fact?
Have you tried setting your capture settings to dv25, deleting some media and batch capturing? same thing?
Outside of deleting your database files, I have no more suggestions. Don’t hop right to reloading the software just yet. I gotta think someone else here has seen this.
good luck and howdy from STL.

It was such a strange problem, and its just gone now. I guess I just had to exercise the buttons, almost like an old piece of hardware. I looked at media creation again and render was set to 1:1, everything else DV25. I once again set everything to DV25, then in the capture tool I switched back and forth between DV25 and 1:1 and other resolutions, watching the remaining time counter to make sure it looked right. Now all seems fine.

Still interested to see if anyone else has seen this issue. I’ve got a bout an hour of unscheduled time this afternoon, I want to see if I can reproduce the error.

Are you and I the only ones from STL on this forum… seems like it sometimes… and I hardly get on anymore. Doing more work for less money makes the free time go bye-bye
