I am having a couple problems coming up when exporting .wmv’s and sequences to XDCAM HD via the export to device from the output menu. With .wmv’s if I attempt to export a sequence with more than one audio channel selected the audio sounds as if it’s being fastforwarded on a vtr for as long as the value in the buffer setting of the export module and then there is no audio. Selecting one channel of audio exports fine. I did not have this problem until after I modified unrelated user settings.

When I try to export a sequence directly to XDCAM HD disc using the export to device function to the Sony 1500 XDCAM deck, the finished file on disc only has one channel of audio-the audio 1 track-no matter how many are selected for export. Again, this is a recent change after many successful exports this way.

Anyone else encountered similar problems and have a solution?

I’ve had the “chipmunk” effect exporting WMVs before. Make sure you’re exporting the same sample rate as your project. I’m not in front of my computer now, but if I recall correctly, it may also happen if you change a stereo sequence to mono when you export. Don’t quote me on that though. Also, I usually duplicate my final sequence and mixdown audio to one stereo pair and video to one track before exporting reference movies or computer files (WMV, mov, etc). This solves a plethora of ills, especially when working with ref movies.
