    Hello,
Does any one have a work-flow for conforming 7D 640×480 50p footage to 25p footage in Media Composer. I cant seem to find an option in the timewarp effect for no frame interpolation.

I tried conforming with Apple Cinematools and when I import into Avid M.C. I’m getting pixel aspect ratio problems even with the don’t change image size option selected. Whats strange is the original Clip from the 7D imports fine but the Cinema Tools conformed Clip gets stretched horizontally to fit the Pal aspect ratio of the project.

Maybe someone has had this problem as well and has an answer?

    Thanks
    Antonia

I never seen 50 fps files, but Avid ‘seems’ to like the speed changes my QTchange application can make.
(Also handy to add TC before the import)

The tests were only done on 30 fps material to get it to import as 29.97, so no guarantees.

As it works on the original files, i would suggest you make a copy before toying.

Another option would be to do a QT export (while you’re at it, do it straight to DNxHD with correct settings, will save you some time.
I’ll bet if you set the export to 25, the QT export will just trash half the frames.

Personally i would use AE. AE can create interlaced material, so you have a WAY smoother image.

    Thanks!

Your QT-Change did the job without any pixel aspect issues!
