I am having trouble on a current edit. I shot the documentary on a sony ex1 camera and it stores the files in a BPAV folder. However i am adeiting on an avid liquid which requires me to recode the files as mxf before i can import them into avid liquid.

This i have done using the sony clip browser that comes with the ex1 camera.

However the timecode that is assigned to the mxf clips i have imported into liquid edition is not the same as the timecode that i recorded the footage with. Somewhere along the line a new timecode was generated for my footage and the proper one was disgarded. Is this how MXF works? or is there a setting in avid liquid that will display the correct timecode?

I think you’ll find better answers to this on the Avid Liquid Forums. I know it’s a bit confusing, but most of use here are MC/Symphony/Newscutter or even DS editors.

    Job,

The liquid forums don’t exist anymore. They condensed them all together a little while back.

Ah, sorry about that. Did not realise. Still shows the Liquid Forum link at the top of this screen.

Thats the problem with liquid no support.

Its such a good editor but the help files are rubbish and it’s so hard to get answers.

I still cant work out if the sony clip browser is rewriting my timecode when i convert to mxf or if its happening when i import clips into avid liquid.
