Xpress Pro won’t play back on Windows 7
I cannot for the life of me get my Xpress Pro to run on Windows 7.
I have installed every codec known to man and running in compatability with XP Service pack 2.
The audio runs but the video remains locked.
I am at wits end.F.

Xpress Pro was never tested nor qualified to run under Windows Vista or 7. I would seriously doubt this could work at all.
When running Avid software, one should stick to the system requirements religiously. Of importance are OS version, QT version and NVIDIA driver version.

Correct. Xpress Pro no longer exists and you would need to upgrade to the Media Composer once qualified for Win7. Currently none of the video editing applications have been qualified. That work is in progress.

Some versions of Windows 7 have an ‘XP Mode’. Has anyone had any success in running Avid this way? Or would I be better off setting up my new system with a dual-boot (7/XP) option?
Any thoughts?
