Deactivation/reactivation query
Hello you lovely folk,
i’ve just bought Media Composer 4. I had intended to buy the version with the dongle but unfortunately i was pushed for time and the only one available was one with a Serial Number activation.
What i need to know is – if i deactivate the software on my laptop in order to install and use it on another computer, can i then go back and reactivate the software on my laptop after deactivating it on the other computer? …basically using the Serial number as a kind of dongle of numbers.
I really appreciate any answers/help ye can give me.

Actually, the dongle is dead for all new purchases. To get a dongle you have to buy a dongled version from someone else and pay a license transfer fee.

Yep. That’s exactly how it works, although you don’t have to deactivate to install MC on another system. You just have to deactivate to run it. So before you leave your desktop deactivate MC. Open your laptop and it should look for activation. Before you close your laptop, deactivate it there. It’s basically an internet based dongle system, or sorts.

Also make sure to select the option where it keeps your numbers. That way it is very fast to reactivate each copy as you need it.
