  Avid installation failure?

  Hi,

  I tried installing my avid, and it seems to install the software properly. However, the avid application will not open, I get an error message saying “Failed to initialize audio hardware.”

  How can I solve this? I have had a previous version of Avid on this computer before and it worked fine. The computer is a mac and is not too old.

  What version OS and what version Avid are you trying to install?

  OS 10.5.7.
  Avid 3.5

  I think maybe I did not unistall the other avid properly first?

  According to Avid, 10.5.7 isn’t certified to run 3.5.

  You may have to roll back your OS or upgrade Avid to 3.5.1…
