Does AVID MC use more than one core?
We have done some test with MC 3.5 on several Windows workstations. Rendering scenes, effects or generating QT files.
– One older workstation with two Intel Xeon 1 GHz,. Windows XP, 32 Bit
– One workstation with two Pentium single core 2,3 GHz ,Windows XP, 32 Bit
– One workstation with an Intel Core I7 with 2,7 GHz, four cores, 12 GByte RAM and Windows Vista 64 Bit
The only speed increase we measured depended on the clock rate of the processor.
Has any one done the same before?
So why is AVID forcing us to multiple core workstation if they don’t use the cores?
