Media Offline Graphic
Does anyone know how to customize the “MEDIA OFFLINE” screen that pops up in Avid when your media is offline?
I want to customize it for our company, but haven’t been able to find out how to do it, or if it’s even possible.
In the Avid_MediaFiles folder there is a file called “OFFLINE_720x486X1_DV411.omf” but I can’t open it or tell if it’s the Media Offline file. That may be a red herring, anyway.

That is, in fact, the file.
I have not tried this, but you should be able to duplicate it, then import it. Do your modifications…do a video mixdown of it…. find the media file of the mixdown….re-name it “OFFLINE_720x486X1_DV411.omf”…..then swap it for the original.

Hmm, yeah, I thought something like that would work, too, but so far it has only led to an error.
I changed media creation to OMF (instead of MXF) and tried two things
1) Made a sequence that is one frame long, mixed it down, revealed the file and then used it to replace the DV411 OMF in the Supporting Files folder on the hard drive.
2) Imported a still and revealed that file (never placing into a sequence) and used that to replace the DV411 OMF in the Supporting Files folder on the hard drive.
Neither way worked, and they both gave me the following error: Exception: MSM: No OFFLINE media found
I put my backed up DV411 Offline OMF back into the folder, and it started working just fine again, so it seems there’s something else very specific about that file I need to uncover (besides the file name). I’ll keep working with it and post if I find a solve. It could be the length or file size of the OMF file, that’s what I’ll try next.
