Problem exporting OMF2 Avid to Protools
Hi,
No one i’ve asked so far seems to ever have had this problem, so i hope you guys might be able to help me out.
I’ve been trying for ages now to export an omf2 for our sound guy who is working in protools. first i exported an embedded omf2 using the “copy all media” option. i thought this meant the clips in my timeline would be entirely exported (as in not just the length they are at in the timeline, but total handle length, so to speak), but apparently thats not the case. our sound guy was not able to extend the clips when he imported it into protools.
so i tried exporting a consolidated omf2 with 1000frames handle length (i tried both embedded and folder option). Avid creates new clips for this, which when i check them are 1000 frames longer than the clips in the timeline. HOWEVER, when our sound guy imports the omf2 into protools, he is never able to extend the clips more than max 4 or 5 seconds. but usually there is no handle length at all.
is there anything i could have missed? im really out of ideas. thanks
