  • Exporting FCP for Avid Adrenaline

I have a 1080 60i seq in FC 6.0 that I need to export a QT of so that I can include it into a SD project in Avid 2.8. All I need is a SD QT from FC, however I keep running into field issues from the QT. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

    This is what I’ve tried:

    1. 1080 60i seq in FC (Odd fields) exported as a 720 X 486 DeInterlaced Animation QT.

    2. Import into Avid Adrenaline 2.8 Odd Fields first 601

I’m seeing some field issues in pans. Can anyone give any assistance?

    Much appreciated

Export the QT movie as a reference from FCP (Not Self Contained) then use compressor to resize it to 720 x 486. Use the target resolution in Avid as the codec. For example, 1:2, 2:1, etc. If you don’t have the Avid codecs on your FCP computer, download them from Avid and install them.

    Then import that into Avid.

Why are you deinterlacing it? You don’t need to.
