• Avid Media Composer

  XPress DV compatible with new MacBook Pro

  I have an old version of XPress DV (not PRO) version 3.5.4.510, which I run on a Dell PC.

  I’m planning to upgrade my computer to a new MacBook Pro, but I’ve heard rumors that Avid software might not be compatible with the newer Mac models.

  Can anyone tell me the scoop on whether my older Avid will be compatible with a new Mac?

  Maybe if you install Windows on your Mac, but even then I’m not sure. XpressDV was discontinued a while ago, and I don’t think it was every approved to run on Intel Macs, so that will be a big problem.

  I think you can upgrade to Media Composer for pretty cheap. $495 US.
