  20 bit versus 24 bit

  I’m doing outputs from a Symphony Nitris to Digibeta tapes. So far I always used the “4 channel 20 bit” SDI output. Is the other option (4 channel 24 bit) any superior? What is the difference really?

  But I mean, has the audio been compromised because of that, all this time?

  The 24 bit setting is only helpful with equipment that works at 24 bit. I believe Digital Betacam is 20 bit, so you have not been compromising your audio.
