  p2 low rez QuickTime proxies re: proxy mill relinked to original MXF p2 files

  Has anyone tried to use the low rez QuickTime proxies from proxy mill and then relinked to the original P2 media? Is this even possible?

  Or is there proven a P2 offline/proxy to online full rez conform using avid?

  Well, I know that you can import the P2 footage into the Avid…that just makes pointers to the media where it is. Then you can Consolidate and RECOMPRESS as 15:1. Then take the P2 drive offline…then conform by taking the 15:1 drive offline and putting the main P2 drive back online. Haven’t tried it, but that is the theory.
