  Avid MC 2.8.1 academic and Vista buz 64.

  I bought MC 2.8.1 academic april this year. Bought a new strong and expensive Vista buz 64 PC. And Panasonic HVX201 (P2) camera. Have been strugling with a lot of problems. Avid now tells me that my version is not compatible with Vista, and that I have to “downgrade” OS to XP servicepack 2, or upgrade Avid MC to 3.0.
  Its much to expensive for me to upgrade, cause I’m not a student anymore.
  But where can I buy OS XP pro SP2. Or can I be sure that it works with servicepack 3?? Or any other suggestions.
  Would be very glad to get in contact with somebody working with the combination…. PC, MC 2.8.1, and panasonic P2 camera.

  The upgrade to MC3 is not that expensive. Buying another OS won’t be free either. I hope you are not using an educational version commercially.
  MC 2.8 handled P2 media rather well (I say from limited experience), but MC3 is a much nicer version altogether.
