  preserving effects when moving clips

  hi – does anyone know if there is a way to preserve audio effects when moving clips within the timeline? i’m prepping tracks for a turnover to our sound dept and i’ve heard that the only way to keep fades etc intact when moving clips to different tracks is to do insert edits that include the effects. is there an easier way? thank you.

  As far as I know, the only way is to insert edit in the empty timeline after the effect, and include that empty “clip” when you drag and drop. Or you can use the auto gain keyframing instead of dissolves, but be warned that this won’t be preserved when you make an OMF
