  How to create mask?

  I want to create a mask on my video so taht I can brighten up one part of it. What effect do I use to create a mask taht I can adjust the shape?

  In Xpress Pro? There really isn’t one. If you’re on Media Composer (or upgrade to Media Composer–$495 upgrade price) you can use Animatte.

  If it’s a moving shot and you’ll be basically rotoscoping, take it to After Effects. Avid Xpress and Media Composer weren;t built to be compositors, and while it can be done–it would be a lot faster and easier in AE.

  its for a talking head. i wanted to blur the background so the person stood out more.
