  Best 3rd party scsi drives for old MCExpress Meridian

  Hello,

  I would appreciate any recommendations as to non-avid branded drives to hook up to an old G3 based Meridian MCExpress system, has a dual channel ATTO LVD ultra fast and wide controller.

  I know Seagate is the way to go…anyone have any ideas as to which models and what enclosure would be good?

  Why not go to eBay and get some Avid 160 LVD drives? I’ll bet they are pretty cheap. If you go with something new, you won’t get the advertised data rate – you’ll only go as fast as the slowest part of your SCSI chain. Medea drives are certified with Meridian, and are approved for the Avid…

  Those Meridians, stable as they were, are notoriously picky about the hardware hooked up to them.
