overwrite edit w/ effects intact
so i want to replace footage, same duration, while keeping nested
effects i already applied to in sequence… is this possible, i
know ae can do it “replace footage” seems a lot easier than
dragging all my effect templates onto new footage…

Just step down (the arrow pointing down icon on the timeline) to the end of your effects nest and overwrite the footage there. Viola! Your video is replaced and effects nest remains.

why didn’t i think of that…very cool.. thanks man..

And if you aren’t in a nested effect, the “replace edit” function (blue splice button) also leaves your effect or transition intact.
