Image exporting in avid
My client wants still images of her footage to use in some kind of print advertisement. I am trying to export a single frame from a sequence in Avid Xpress Pro v4.1.1 as a TIFF format. The quality, however, is quite low. Is there a way to export something from AVID with a quality higher than 100 dpi. 300 dpi would be ideal.
Any help is appreciated.

720X486 72dpi is the best yer gonna do.
There are a couple of rez-adding photoshop plugins that work pretty well but by in large, video just aint print material.

We do frame grabs all the time for Columbia Journalism Review, and they work fine. The key is not to make the image too large in the print version.
The reality is that print is a much higher resolution medium than video.

Unfortunately the client wants something that can be used in a half-page ad. Oh well. If she wanted high-res photos she should have had a photog on the set when we shot it. Her problem, not mine. Thanks for the help!
