  30fps to 59.94 ALE problem

  I have a producer that mistakenly made many ALEs in Avid Media log for Varicam footage. Unfortunately he made them 30fps ALEs instead of 59.94. I am trying to import them into our Avid DS and the DS won’t convert them from 30 to 59.94. I cant seem to find a way to convert the ALE’s clips within MediaLog to 59.94 either. Can’t “modify” clip framerates as you could with sources or dropframe. And 59.94 isn’t a pulldown option at the start of a new project within MediaLog. Using MediaLog v 21.5. Do I need to go up to v 22.2.5? Or is there another way to convert the ALEs?

  I think you could bring them into a 29.97 SD project in Symphony, then modify them to 1080 59.94 and export.

  If you can explain me how the TC’s should offset (i don’t know about varicam that much, but i do about ALE and math), i could alter my ALE cleaner application to do it for you.
