Not sure what to do, i have re-installed avid and still get the same problem. When i try and open the program nothing happens then i open the force quite application window and it show avid is not responding. Worked yesterday and now it does not and I have a project due soon. Can some one please help me.
I am running a Mac powerbook G4 and avid express pro v4.6.5

    Thanks Brendan

Can you give us a little more detail about your system: OS version, RAM, storage..

Also, try deleting your MCState file (Application/Avid/XPressPr/Settings). If that doesn’t help, deleting your preference file in the (I think) User/system/preferences.

I had problems with my OSX/Meridian system, and the preference file seemed to help the most. It’s kind of like zapping the PRAM…

Thanks I will give that a try. But i have and update to the problem. When i open the program and leave it alone and not do a force quite eventually (around 20 mins later) an avid window will open up saying “Your system is not licensed to run this software. Please contact an Avid representative for further assistance.” I bought this program about 3 years and its the education version of avid express could that be the problem does this version expire. I do have the dongle plugged and it worked up until 2 days ago.

    Thanks Brendan

    Ouch…

I had a dongle fry in the USB port. Luckily, I have support and they sent me a new one in several days.

    Have you tried calling support?

    Good luck…
