I am new to editing but I want create and produce DVD info products for retail, video podcasts and at some point maybe independant films.

My system is a Duocore 2.4gh, 2gb ram, lots of HD running XP, I have 3 monitors. Nvidia 7900gt and 7300gt(to run 3rd monitor)

I am not sure which software package to get (price is no consideration ) But ease of use and being able to run it on my system is. I really do not want to have to go buy a Quadro card. I would not mind stepping up to the Nvida 8800 series cards, but since I might play a game here and there I don’t want to have to buy a quadro as well as they are very pricey, if I must then please reccomend an affordable quadro card.

I am also running the Adobe Studio 8 suite for print and web publishing that I will be doing as well.

So my question is which should I go with Avid Xpress Pro vs. Media Composer amd should I get the Mojo?

Yes you should get the mojo. If price is no consideration, get media composer. The interface is 99% the same.

Personally i would add an Avid 101 course to the mix.
If that makes a too big price difference, go with XpressPro.
You’ll benefit more from a good course than from the extended funtionality in MC.

    Is that course from Avid?

Here is the deal I can get MC or Express Pro for almost nothing even with hard where less than Vegas 6. I might be going over kill for what I want to do, DVD authoring and Podcasting. But Since I have the option I want the best I can get for the money and that I can do more pro stuff with in the future. I mean why lean Vegas when I can learn Avid right?
