    Greetings,

I am trying to create a “super” or title for a talking head. I have taken a jumpback and created a FF and have cropped it to the size I want for the screen. How do I get the top part to show video instead of black?? I have tried applying a “picture in picture” effect on V2 where the cropped image is edited but it tells me the “effect doesn’t apply”. Where am I going wrong?

    Thanks much!
    EJ

Your title must have an alpha channel with it first. Then, when you import the file into your avid, in your import options, select the Invert Alpha button. Your file will import as a matte, and you should be able to drop it onto the video track above your main video. Then, if you want, you can open the effect editor for your matte and do basic animations with it.
