  Avid Xpress noise

  I’m trying to hunt down the source of some unwanted noise in some clips on our Avid Xpress Pro. I’m using a betacam deck through MoJo to capture some talking head clips shot against a brick wall painted blue. Our source tapes have a bit of noise in them, but once they’re in the Avid the blue has become more saturated and there’s more noise in the shadows. And yes, I was careful to properly set the bars up before capturing.
