  • lost project from ‘projects’ and ‘attic’…is it gone for good?

help…it appears I’ve overwritten an empty Attic project with my good one. I was searching for my project and couldn’t find it, so pulled the Attic version into my projects folder and overwrote it. Now, I have no bin info…
    I don’t know how I did it…but that’s what I assume happened.

is it (the sequence) gone for good?

    argh!

You might need to create a new project. Not sure about your attic, but when I bring sequences and bins from there into the project they need to be renamed. Open the folders and each bin name should a folder IE Sequence. When you open that folder the sequence bin will be saved multiple times, Seq.1 Seq.2 Take the latest version then and rename(PC version) Seq.avb Now you can drop this renamed file into your new project.

Hopefully you will be good to go.

sadly when I search my drive for the project/sequence/a bin with an identifiable name, nothing comes up. The Attic version is empty. I really don’t know what I’ve done but I’ve done something.

If I created a new project, I still don’t have the sequence to build from…so am I starting from, sigh, scratch?

    thanks!! thanks!! thanks!!

Ok, you moved the folder from the attic to the projects folder and it overwrote it, but what you are saying is after you did that it disappeared. That’s wierd. Unless it’s in the project folder, I don’t know what to say about restoring your sequence.

When you start the avid, it was there it wouldnt show up in your projects from the menu cause it doesn’t have the project.avp and project.avs files.

Unless you have a system back up drive it may be lost. Before you give up completly you should do a through look in your folders for those files.

    Good Luck
