  Problems taking a 24p edl from FCP onto AVID

  Hey all,

  I am currently assigned to do promos for a film edited on an FCP on 24p. I have an edl taken from that machine but am unable to open it on my AVID machine (which is an Express Pro w/ Mojo). When I import the edl onto a 24p project on AVID, the timeline refuses to open saying it cant use interlaced video on a progressive project. But it opens without a problem on a 25i project.

  Is it a problem with the edl itself? or is there a problem wioth the settings on my machine?

  When you open the EDL in EDL Manager, make sure you select 24fps when prompted as well set the project type in EDL Manager to be 24p PAL. If the EDL has audio, you need to be in a PAL Method 1. If no audio, then Method 1 or Method 2.

  Also make sure that the EDL is truly 24fps, there should be no timecodes with values ending in :24.
