I have a project that was shot with the dvx100a in 24p mode. I am trying to export a quicktime movie and I keep getting scanlines. I have tried exporting with the deinterlace video option selected but the result is the same.

    I am running express pro 4.8 on a g5.

I saw a few posts suggesting to use the deinterlace video but this is not working for me. Does anyone have any advise.

    Thanks,

    A.R.

Are you looking at your export on a computer monitor? What is the final destination of your file?

I have two final destinations. One is dvd and the second is a compressed file to play in the internet. It seems to be a 24p problem because files that I shot on a pd150 in 60i do not make these scanlines. I feel pretty f’d right now.

My point about your destination is this; watching interlaced footage on progressive (computer monitor) will always accetuate the scan lines (of course, I’m sure you knew that). Try bringing you I-Frame rate down to 6, and keep your data rate no higher than 4500 for starters. If you are using Sorenson, it automatically removes interlacing. Create a filter to NOT deinterlace.
